Kilidify: an AI gateway for developers in Iran
Kilidify (Persian: کلیدیفای) gives developers in Iran one OpenAI-compatible API endpoint for models from Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, Meta, DeepSeek and Mistral. Accounts are paid for in Iranian rial through domestic bank gateways, so no international payment card is required.
The product itself is in Persian. This page is the English summary; everything it describes is live at kilidify.com.
Using it
The base URL is https://api.kilidify.com/v1. Point an OpenAI client at it and change the key. Nothing else in existing code changes.
from openai import OpenAI
client = OpenAI(
base_url="https://api.kilidify.com/v1",
api_key="kl_live_…",
)
reply = client.chat.completions.create(
model="anthropic/claude-sonnet-5",
messages=[{"role": "user", "content": "Hello"}],
stream=True,
)Full examples in curl, Python and Node are in the documentation, and Claude Code has its own guide.
How it works
- What it is
- A hosted API gateway. One key and one base URL reach models from several providers. Kilidify does not train or host models; it resells capacity and handles billing.
- Interface
- OpenAI-compatible: chat completions, streaming, and model listing. An existing OpenAI SDK works after changing the base URL and the key, in any language.
- Payment
- Accounts are funded in Iranian rial through domestic bank gateways. No international payment card and no foreign bank account is involved. Card details are entered on the bank’s own page and never reach Kilidify.
- Billing
- Per token, at the model’s own rate plus a service fee. Wallet credit is held in US dollars and converted at the free-market rate, which refreshes every five minutes. The rate used for a top-up is recorded on that transaction and is not re-applied afterwards.
- Spending limits
- Every API key carries its own monthly spend cap, requests-per-minute limit, and list of permitted models. Balance is checked before a request is forwarded, so an empty wallet stops requests rather than running up a debt.
- Privacy
- Request and response content is not stored. Only the model name, token counts, cost and timestamp are recorded, which is what the usage report and the invoice are built from.
Questions
Do I need an international credit card?
No. Accounts are topped up through Iranian bank gateways and the credit is held in US dollars.
Which libraries and tools work with it?
Any OpenAI-compatible library or tool. Claude Code is supported through the Kilidify package, and there is a VS Code extension.
Which models are available?
Several hundred, from Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, Meta, DeepSeek and Mistral among others. The live list, with per-million input and output prices, is on the pricing page.
Is this an OpenRouter reseller?
Kilidify routes to upstream providers and adds Persian-language billing in rial, local payment gateways, per-key spending controls, and invoices in toman. The value it adds is the payment and accounting layer, not the inference.
What happens when the balance runs out?
Requests stop. The balance is checked before each request is forwarded, and you are never charged beyond it.
